WPG scouting OTT

Description
OTT ownership is cheap and Hoffman likely to be moved for a package. With 3 years left it'll take a decent pacakge to get him but something around a 1st, Vesalainen and Stanley might get it done based on what we know about the org and if they're doing a rebuild and trading Karlsson too, may as well stock up on young cheap talent.

What does ownership being cheap have to do with trading hoffman? Hes already on a contract, and hes not gonna sign for a crazy amount at 31 years old (age at end of contract). The description doesnt make any sense. and thats a not really a good trade, theirs teams offering way better deals than that for hoffman. (STL)

we have an insider among us!!! Tell me what's been offered from STL "MANAGEMENT" group for Hoffman????? I'd love to know what deal to match! I see "larkinisking" has changed his name and affiliation.
In any case you know nothing about what's actually been offered you're going off what fans of STL have hypothetically offered who have no authority. Also, every year there's deals that seem WAY undervalued that get done so to say you're getting better offers when the player hasn't been traded is asinine. The deal above is absolutely fair "market" value if you do your actual homework at trades that have been completed as opposed to purusing hypothetical deals on fan boards.

Why would the jets go after the one position they are the deepest at in LD? Also that hurts the jets cap situation going forward and you are giving up a ton (3 1st round picks) to get a piece you don't need. If the jets need something its a depth dmen and a centerman.

There's no real C's available that are good, this scenario has them Keep Wheeler at C to fill that need, then replace Wheeler with a top 6 winger. It makes perfect sense really since Wheeler has actually already been playing as a #1C in Scheifeles absence. The depth D-man piece is another story and I agree with you...whatever keeps Chiarot out of the lineup will make me happy.

Teams always scout each other, Means absolutely nothing Detroit scouts were that the Buffalo Jets game the other night doubt they're working out a deal with either of those clubs.

Why does everyone think wheeler has been playing well at C? That line with him and the 2 kids have been not good at 5vs5 (jets least effective line). The lines sh% is super high but that will come down to earth.

Acc im not LarkinisKing. And what i meant was that STL has a lot more assets to offer for hoffman. And how is that fair value for Hoffman? Your giving two not so good prospects, a old winger that can barely stay healthy and never puts up points, and a probably late first round pick. No thanks.

Vesalainen is not a "not so good prospect" he's actually a very good prospect who's doing very well in a Mens league over seas (2nd on team scoring and if he didn't play 9 games last year would be leading rookie scoring) at 19 in a Mens' league. Stanley is a bit of a project and might need a year or two yet but jury is still out on whether or not he's "not a good prospect" just yet. Mattais you're right...is an absolute CAP dump said as much above. A late 1st is still a 1st and would give OTT 2 this year or maybe more if they move Karlsson. The 1st you'll get from STL will be in the same range so...there's that too. Again you're going off assumptions that STL has actually made an offer better than that.
Historically these kinds of trades NEVER bring back as much as the fans assume they will.
-TJ Oshie with 1.5 years left got Brower, Copley and a 3rd
-Kyle Palmeri got a 2nd and a 3rd in trade to NJ

Those are two similar circumstances with wingers producing similar point totals and their returns. The Oshie deal is the most comparable and Brower, Copley and a 3rd is NOT AS GOOD as Vesalainen, Stanley, Mattais and a 1st. Wonder why it is fans always think deals cost more than they really do!
