Description
NYI trade is at the TDL: There's a lot here.
From a BUF perspective: Unload Lehner to provide more cap space going forward if they are confident in Ullmark being the starter next season. Taking on Greiss' salary adds more value in terms of the 2nd round pick. Moving Kane leaves a hole for a left-shot forward, and Nelson can be that middle-six winger/ Center going forward. Gives the Sabres experience, and has 20G potential entering his prime years. De Haan is the interesting part. If mgt believes that Guhle is ready for being one the 2nd pair, McCabe can become expendable. De Haan is essentially a better shot suppressing McCabe. He can play both sides, and coming off an injury, he may be more willing to sign an extension on the spot (BUF doesn't pull trigger on trade until he agrees). Not positive what he will get, so I used the Alzner contract and added a little bit, and in a few years if Scandella leaves CDH can shift to the left side and pair with Risto. 7M in space this year with 10M off the books next year.

From a NYI view: they are in win now mode to impress Johnny T. Lehner is an upgrade in net over Halak and Greiss and they still control his rights at the EOY. McCabe can replace CDH on the blue line AND he still has another year at 1.6M then RFA. A top 4 minute guy only counting 1.6M against the cap during the first year of Johnny T's big deal should help ease the pain. Nelson is being boxed out by Bailey, Barzal etc. and Friedman has thrown his name out there as a trade chip.
---------------------------------------------------
CGY (also at the TDL): To be honest, I am more interested in Fox than I am the 1st so I could haggle on moving that to a 2nd or another prospect. Fox can help balance the blue line in terms of Righty/Lefty and looks to be stuck behind Dougie, Hamonic, Stone and Andersson for the foreseeable future.
---------------------------------------------------
I ran tankathon and got 2nd Overall. Svech and Eichel for 10 years plz.

Hard pass from the Flames side, not worth giving away another 1st and of our very top prospects for a rental

I think CGY would do it, but other teams may offer more

What handedness is McCabe? It's not too bad, but change the 2nd to a 3rd.

Any convo involving Fox, Valimakki or Parsons isn't going to happen. Every prospect besides that is plausible.

McCabe is a lefty. And make it a 2nd if the Isles win a playoff round

    Anderson?

Yeah I would definitely be open to looking at a deal involving Andersson. Doesn't look like the Flames will be able to utilize him in the NHL anytime soon anyways.
