Would this get us Pacioretty??

Created by: flamesfan419

Description
IF and only IF this trade were to actually take place, it would also allow some shifting with the lines.
I would put Patches on the wing with Backlund/Frolik and move Tkachuk to the right side on the Jankowski/Bennett line.

No, the Habs 2nd pick alone is worth more than that pile of grunts

What's the most valueable piece you offered? A fourth line left winger? Ya, sure that's worth a 5 time 30 goal man.

It’s not even close. It would center around Bennett/Jankoski plus a prospect and a first.

From 2008-2011 Pacioretty split his time between the Habs and the AHL Bulldogs. So that tells me he had to start somewhere which is exactly what Mangiapne is doing. And last time I looked Mangi was leading the AHL Heat in scoring, so the potential is there. Just needs a chance to play on a more regular basis.
So I wonder why MTL wouldn't want to take a shot at getting a 21yr old winger with proven scoring touch.

and call us when and if he ever makes the same leap to 4 time 30 goal scorer and we'll talk .
again what you've offered is the trash your team can do without for our captain . . . . . .

i mean can we have Gaudreau for Mccarron ,De La Rose,Fucale,Terry and a 2nd pick ?

well that's garbage, just for arguments sake kylington and mangiapane would be worth more together than your 2nd. But yea this is essentially throwing spare parts and couple of good, not great, prospects for a top end player. That's never going to work. But misvaluing trades is kind of a hallmark of flamesfan419, no offense.

No way that gets patches. A bunch of solid peices don’t net you an elite goal scorer

    Its actually pretty simple.

More times then not, the players and prospects involved have to be centered around players you drafted in the first two round the past 3 years and or picks in the first two rounds within the next 3 years.

Obviously this doesn't always work as there are some players who were late rounders who end up being studs but MOST times, Its the above. Obviously you used a couple of those guys that fit the bill but are just barely qualifying IMO.

If I'm MTL, I don't start discussing until you name names like Dube, Valimaki, Jankowksi, Bennett, etc. Poirier was drafted 5 years ago and still can't dent the NHL lineup. Kylington and Mangiapane are nice prospects but are no guarantees yet either so the risk is a little too high for me.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. Unlike others who simply find it easier to just be critical rather than offering insight into why things will/won't work.
    Greatly appreciated.
