Like the trade with Tampa to secure Stamkos. But cap is still an issue. Does Mrazek only get 2m? Someone could sign him more as RFA and be willingly pay the compensation. Again, I am in disagreement with many Wing fans, but you cannot offload Howard and his contract without taking money back. There are many goalies available this summer at a better price than Howard.

Mrazek may as well get more money than listed. If he does, I imagine Miller is lost to FA as a result.

Kenny has a history with players coming off of EL deals to give them short 2-3 yr prove it deals. Seeing Mrazek hasn't had a starters load of game yet (might change this season if Howie keeps struggling) I thought he'd win the negotiation of lower $ for a prove it deal.

Maybe I should have given him 3/yr. But I'd be hesitant to give him and big $ long term deal off of two partial seasons. But as you said Mrazek is a RFA and Kenny might have to match a big offer.
