laugh laugh Sure Malkin and Letang are going to waive for Arizona, Not and Tavares isn't going to play 2nd fiddle to Crosby if you're going to move Malkin and Letang at least make it to teams that they would waive for Arizona isn't that team.

Like the idea of Tavares. If we resign rust for that much I'd be proud of GMJR because I expect him to ask for around shearys amount. Malkin, letang and jarry. No way any team has enough assets to get them all in one deal. Malkin has mega return. If 40pts duchene takes a three way deal. Wow, Malkin alone needs a lot better return than what Arizona is giving.

I agree that they shouldn't waive for that team and especially if it's for that return. One problem with what you said, Crosby is better than Tavares.

Never said that Crosby wasn't better then Tavares, All i said is why would Tavares want to play 2nd banana to Crosby when he can go to another team and be the go to guy.

Because when you have 4 generational superstar players, youre bound to win a cup. Crosby, Malkin, kessel and tavares, like wow wow wow. Most teams have 1 generational talent. Which is why pittsburgh with 3. Since acquiring kessel have won two cups in a row since acquiring kessel. In aummary tavares would want to go to pittsburgh to win a cup.

By getting rid of their 2 million dollar 7th d man in either cole or hunwick. Hagelin goes and if hornqvist isnt resigned. If Sheary is in the mix of the trade. There are lots of ways pther than getting rid of players that matter.

Losing all five of those guys means they will have to be replaced. The dmen could be with cheaper contract guys I'll give you that. The three forwards all have had significant, timely impacts and would be very hard to duplicate their combined productivity. Pittsburgh presently has 14 rostered guys signed into next season and at least $14M in available space. Besides extending Hornqvist and maybe Sheahan for close to half of that, the other seven to fill out the roster should be easily manageable. (Additionally, the upper limit may provide a couple of million more.). On the open market, Tavares may outprice himself from legit Cup contenders like the Pens. By signing with them along with keeping Malkin, Pittsburgh would certainly be the team to beat. However, there's a good chance it may backfire and stymie their chances of winning. While those three forwards you mentioned are not superstars/top cap hits, they were key contributors to the last 2 Cup teams and affordable. Trust me, and I know Pens fans should agree, championship teams need dependable role/depth guys in addition to superstars. What ultimately matters is that the entire group performs consistently regardless of status.

I agree which is why i keep telling people GMJR has done nothing but mistakes since the reaves deal. Because guys like fleury to niemi, bonino to mckegg,etc... were major downgrades to key depth players. Which is why they are not doing as well this year.

I hear ya! I have some of the same issues with Bowman. Fortunately for your Pens, the top guys are all outperforming Chicago's stars and are now creeping back into playoff contention. The Hawks have had two key injuries to Crawford and Anisimov, who have missed roughly 20-25% of the season. Yes, they are very valuable for their team to have any success, although Chicago has actually had a winning record of late. I would describe them as being terribly inconsistent, fairly incapable of multiple winning streaks. I believe they've had a 5 game once and no more than two straight wins other than that. Hard to keep any momentum and make any gains in the standings when they have been floundering near the bottom of the Central and WC for too much of this season.

BTW, if Rutherford were to entice Tavares to sign with the Pens WHILE keeping Malkin and Crosby (if that is at all possible!), do they each center one of the top 3 lines and stay happy with decreased ES minutes? One thing would be for sure, their PP might score every time!

Kessel is also up there with them imo maybe not as good but jes definetley atill up there. But yea they could stack up their top two lines with any of those 4 guys or they could put them each on a different line. All 4 of them tho with letang on the pp would score like every time.
