Possible Boston Bruins Value Depth Chart

Description
The one guy I struggled most with was Cehlarik. Personally, I'd rather trade Spooner than him, but on the opposite side of that is that I'd expect someone to pay us more for Spooner than they would with Cehlarik so I put Spooner above.

The quad of LHD prospects is basically impossible to determine at this point in time, so I put them in the order of how high they were drafted.

I put Accari over Fitzgerald because I really like what Accari brings as a 4th liner. Fitzgerald would end up with the higher role if he makes it, but I personally value Accari more because of what he is right now.

This was made to give everyone (especially fans of other teams) a general idea of the hierarchy of value.

As much criticism as Sweeney received for his moves after becoming GM, the Bruins have drafted very well under him and the cupboards look very full

I’m pretty sure he was the head of scouting before being promoted to GM. Once he learns how to make a true hockey trade he’ll get the praise he deserves. But in his first year don got pressured to make moves (stempniak/liles) by Jacobs to make a playoff push. Personally i give don a B+ as his time as GM

I know he took a lot of heat for the Hamilton trade but here's the thing;

He had a deal to send Dougie to ARI for the 3rd OA pick in the 2015 draft. BOS was going to select Hanifin with the pick, however ARI balked and CGY had the next best offer on the table.

That deal wasn't Sweeney's fault entriely

Dougie had to go. Kids got great talent but he was demanding to sign his brother Freddie or he was gonna walk. Easy decision #SeeYaLater. Lucic trade great, Martin jones good return, just gotta wonder if we coulda got a corner stone d man for tuukka at that time but hey, we are where we are now, I’m glad it only took 2 1/2 years to get back here compared to Edmonton who waited what 6-7 years to get back into playoffs.

Sweeney has done an excellent job. He's got ties to Heinen, Bjork, Donato, Cehlarik, Fitzgerald, Grzelcyk and Benning (bad ending) like you already stated to people he was head of development and somehow all these guys developed from mid round picks. Since 2015 things have been a little slower, but we've got a ton of top assets and it's only going to take time to become a consistent playoff team. Having 6 picks inside the top 60 in 2015 when he took over was GENIUS. He knew he was going to have some time to develop guys so he went hard year 1 which is the only way to go. You make that move year 2 or 3 as a GM moving legit players (Lucic, Hamilton) you get fired. This guy's just been really smart and it's no surprise he went to one of the most prestigious schools if not the absolute most prestigious school in the USA. (Harvard)
