Description
Never going to happen but its fun to dream. It would only happen if the Islanders miss the playoffs and Flames make it and win at least a couple rounds as he would look to go with a team that has a chance to win it all. Would lose Backlund and Brodie unfortunately but this team should be a true contender! Grabner is signed to a massive overpayment as it is only 1 year and will need money for Tkachuk, Bennett and Ferland the next. Brady will have to play on his off wing from the get go and become a LHS right winger.

    You obviously did not read this right. I did not say Brodie would get a top 5 and 2 2nds.. I said top a 1st and 2 2nds. Then we trade all that plus Fox for a top 5 pick.

    Sure as hell did! Why not with the cap space an a potential 30+ goal scorer for 1 year deal playing with Tavares....

    If you want Brady Tkachuk you can't pick any lower than 3rd and maybe even as high as 2nd. ARI and BUF will take D most likely, but any other team in the top 3 may take Tkachuk. It's very possible Brady is the first forward off the board too as he is able to play C, something Zadina and Svechnikov do not play. Look no further than CBJ taking Dubois over wingers Tkachuk and Puljujarvi.

    The cost would be very high. If you're signing Tavares, then Monahan becomes expendable and you can keep Backlund as a cheaper 2nd line C. Move Monahan to get the pick to take Tkachuk

    I get what you are saying but I would not want to lose Monahan at any expense. It would work to get the pick but what if the Flames fail to land Tavares? This team would be on another rebuild most likely. If we could not aquire the assets to get Brady without moving a major part then I would pass and just keep Monahan and Backlund. Either way there is no way we get either Brady or Tavares.... Sigh

    In reality Tavares is more likely although the odds are slim.

    Tkachuk would have been more realistic if the Flames hadn't spent so many assets on Hamonic and Smith last offseason
