that team also had 2 generational talents lol

I don't know if I'd call Kopitar and Quick "generational".

Flyers fans an Habs fans ...

Can you explain to me why (unless Bergevin screws up the team) they won’t at least be in the mix for the playoffs?

They play a winger as their #1C
They will likely trade Pacioretty
They have a terrible prospect pool
Other than Webber the defense are lacklustre, and Webber has taken a step back this year
There is no forward depth, and they have players like Shaw signed to contracts too long

A team that can't score goals and has no prospects to either trade to acquire goalscorers or step up as a goalscorer, means they will not win games in the future.

I did say if Bergeron isn’t an idiot. So future trades that will “Most likely” happen doesn’t prove your point.
They have a terrible prospect pool
How the heck does this affect them being decent next year?
Other than Webber the defense are lacklustre, and Webber has taken a step back this year
laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh
So being second on the team in P/GP, while playing with an injured foot, while playing 20+ minutes a night, while being stellar defensively, while having one of the greatest slapshots in the league (including the ability to curve his shot in the air) is taking a step back? What all powerful being was he before?
There is no forward depth, and they have players like Shaw signed to contracts too long
I do agree that Montreal doesn’t have great elite scoring, if they have anything on forward, it’s depth. When healthy, the habs have one of the best bottom 6s in the league.

A team that can't score goals and has no prospects to either trade to acquire goalscorers or step up as a goalscorer, means they will not win games in the future.

This is ridiculous.

What's ridiculous is thinking they're a playoff team next year, when they're garbage this year and have no prospects to bring up or develop to push them into playoff category.

The point being they'd lose another goal scorer... who will they replace him with? Where will the goals come from? This is a hypothetical since we are talking about next year.
Pretty idiotic that youre getting upset about a "Most likely" when we are discussing next year which is hypothetical itself..

So being second on the team in P/GP,

That's a testament of how terrible Montreal's forwards are.
20+ minutes a night are an expectation for a first line defenseman... not anything to be proud of.

including the ability to curve his shot in the air

1. The curved shot was on the ice
2. That was 100% luck that a rolling puck rolled with a curve into the net
3. Hilarious you think that fluke was intentional

they could definitely make it, but they could also come last ... every year Montreal is very questionable.

My point is that if Bergevin isn’t stupid we can make it. Which means only trading Patches if the value is better to this team than what he brings.

Thanks for admitting you have been out classed in this discussion.
Montreal is the 3rd worst team for goals-for. Like I said, him being 2nd in points/gp on the team is a testament of how poor Montreal's offense is, not a testament of his offensive abilities. Also interesting you would disagree that it is an expectation for a 1st line defenseman to play 20+ minutes a game. Is hockey new to you?

Also hilarious that you put in the YouTube video of the goal that clearly shows he shot it wide and the puck rolls on the ice. The curve is caused from the friction of the ice and the puck rolling, not his shot lmao.

2 winners in 5 years is a bit ridiculous

I honestly see Tampa and Winnipeg becoming the two best teams in the league for the next five years or so and I don't think they'll have much competition. Their depth of young talent at every position is significantly better than all the other teams in the NHL. Columbus, Boston, Nashville, Toronto and Calgary could all win, but they each need significant upgrades in order to do it

Gallagher's in their top 6. And these guys are good but usually the bottom 6 should have at least one point every 2 game scorer.

Yeah, but you need a better than average bottom 6 to make the playoffs.

Usually those teams have a middle six or top 9 rather than a bottom 6. And no you dont.

Do you know how many good teams there are in the NHL right now? Tons of good teams miss the playoffs.

Please do tell what significant upgrades the Bruins need? They are the hottest team in the league when healthy. They made the decent Islanders team look like a farm team tonight!!!!
