82 million minor changes to my old post......

Created by: Capitalfail67
Team: 2018-19 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 17, 2018
Published: Jan. 17, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
change i made was and ill explain

i resigned eller for 2 years minor pay raise bc
1) im not sure stephenson can replace him
2) in two years we will have an idea who is going to replace eller stephenson or boyd and who will be the 4th line center

caps have 2 prospects i would love to sign and play for Hershey next season the make the main roster the following season

1)Axel Jonsson Fjällby looked great at the world juniors also scored a few sh goals which would be huge if that can translate to his play for the caps in a few years

2) samsonov...not a huge fan of him replacing holtby ..... holtby has been our best player for the last 3 seasons but cap issues and samsonov could be better for cheaper......similar to a maf ---->murray deal like they had in Pittsburgh

also i think luca might need another year in Hershey...but i 100% plan to have him replace hammer the following year ....hes extremely talented and shows some great potential this season......

other things

the top 4 is set for the next 3 years or till nisk falls off wihich may not happen or if we trade him for cap dump...

orlov....nisk'
djoo carlson

my bottom 4 after this year would be this

luca ......bowey

if bowey isnt playing better then he is now i would replace him with hobbs

luca if injured or played bad would be replaced by Siegenthaler

we could go after a backup but whats the point imo if holtby gets hurt we recall samsonov.....copley should be good enough to play 20-23 games (esp with how well caps develop goalies)

but this is my team for 2018 :)

Yeah, right. Would you mind providing a source as to which other teams are actively negotiating with a player under contract to the Capitals?

I happen to completely agree that an 8x8 offer would be enough to keep him. I massively disagree with your delusional assertion that he wants out of a team that's won back to back President's trophies, builds its power play around him, plays him over twenty minutes a night, and gives him a great chance to win the Cup every year.

Where did i say that any team is actively negotiating with him, I'm saying if he becomes a UFA this summer i can see team offering him that much. Please don't make it any worse then it is. And besides who cares if Washington won back to back President Trophys did they win a cup in those back to back No i thought so there's no guarantee's that Carlson stays maybe he does maybe he doesn't.

If somebody wants to be dumb enough to pay Carlson $8M per season, go ahead. A number around 6.5 is reasonable for him

Not saying that $6.5 million isn't fair for Carlson, Just going by what's reported and they say he's seeking anywhere from at least $7 million at the very least too as much as $8 million per.

That's a more reasonable statement, LIK. I'm not surprised you couldn't find a link to back up your earlier wild assertion of a higher asking price to stay put. If Carlson even joked about that, he'd be finished in Washington, and lucky to get 6.5 anywhere. It'd be unprofessional, for one thing, but Leonsis also seriously overreacted when Bondra pulled that nonsense.

Also, the above trade for Hjalmarson is a crazy overpayment. Orpik and a 2nd, max.

You're talking about a thirty-something defenseman with a Cup ring who plays twenty minutes and change each game, is in single digits in points, and single digit negatives in plus minus who makes four to five million a year. Wait. That's both of them. The difference is that Orpik can hit, fight, clear a crease, and is signed next year. Seriously, Hjalmarson barely has three hundred hits in his career. Orpik got three hundred in his first year as a Capital.

So maybe it's Arizona that throws in the 2nd. Enough of this crap.
