Only way Joe or any legit center is signing in Montreal is if they get a 1D to play with Weber 1st. A hole that dooms them until it is filled.

I agree on Thornton, but believe Stastny could be lured with a lucrative contract. It would take more than is offered here though. More like $6M for at least 4 years.

This team still can't compete with the coach you have. He was on his way down in Boston and then your management decided that if he couldn't win and make the playoffs in Boston, he'll be able to make the playoffs with a less talented roster in Montreal. That was a terrible decision and he let our team **** their pants 3 years in a row. Cassidy salvaged the playoffs last year, that wasn't Claude.... we were tanking and unconfident with Claude. Claude's best coaching can be found in the past. He's an escalator accelerating downward.

Stastny also gets more money. You have the money to give to him so maybe just work that out.
