First look for another 1C
second Danault will cost more like 3.5M
and I would trade Schlemko & Coburn for picks

According to experts, the chances JT hitting free agency are slim and, if he does, Montreal is going to have give him the richest contract in NHL history. That means 7 years at 14-15 M/year
I would say, scratch Plekanec...trade him at the deadline this year (where his value is at its peak) and free up that cash to give to JT.
1M for Lindgren is much too low and 3 years for Jerabek is too much - he hasn't proven anything and we have younger guys coming up the pipeline.

I’m down with keeping the pipe dream alive for Tavares
Danault is on a bridge contract. If I signed him for 5+ years I would’ve done in the 3 millions
And that’s a thought too for schlemko and coburn

I am a Fan of Mete but he is not ready and won't be next year to be a True #1 D.... No true #1 centre is going to sign in Montreal without an answer to who is going to play LD with Weber. Tavares is only leaving NY Islanders for a team that he believes can win now. I think OEL is the answer but there might be someone else out there that I am forgetting...

And I actually think sign and trading danault makes a lot of sense....you can get a serious discount on Plekanic who wants to stay in Montreal. Clearly only trading Danault for a more offensive center 1 or 2.
