I still prefer Larson to Hall. The defense still needs help and you still woul need to make trades for next year.

If you had Barzal in line would it have made as much sense to pay Draisaitl 8.5M as if he was a #1C? I would think Draisaitl could have brought back a great package from a team like Arizona.... Draisaitl for OEL + Dvorak or maybe someone else? I've thought that was the hole in this season, a lack of LHD quality with Sekera out.

Beauvillier isnt a chias mistake. 33rd overall was Mitchell Stephens that went to Tampa. Islanders got Beauvillier by trading up with Tampa

Tampa Bay traded NY Rangers' 1st-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft (previously acquired, 28th overall) to NY Islanders for Edmonton's 2nd-round pick in 2015 (previously acquired, 33rd overall) and Florida's 3rd-round pick in 2015 (previously acquired, 72nd overall).

Beauvillier is part of Islanders Reinhart trade tree, but he is not part of the Oilers

Last year Hall had a bad year and Larson had a good year, this year it's the reverse. Give it another year or two and you will see.
Hall couldn't play with McDavid beacause their styles didn't mesh, stop dreaming what never would have been.

even if that is remotely accurate (u base that off of like 4 games) - id still rather have hall on the 2nd line with draisaitl because now u have 2 top lines. larsson is an ok dman, nothing special, hall is a superstar.
