I aprove all trades except LA, Amadio is overrated and Byron is underrated. You also need to think about going after a starter. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this because these are good trades.

The first one is not a good trade, I don’t understand why Habs fans (presuming you are) think that the Oilers want Price. I’d rather be stuck with a overpaid (right now) Draisaitl, entering his prime, than stuck with a 10.5 mill goalie leaving his prime soon, getting paid till he’s 38, it’s absurd. Having a good goalie is a luxury, not a need for the Oilers, Talbot has been fine enough.

Price for Draisatl might be even in terms of value, but it leaves a gaping hole in each team. Maybe throw in Talbot and Galchenyuk, so that each team is whole, and they might each be improved?

Edmonton is not in the playoffs because their defense needs changes. Sekera is a sieve and Benning should be in the AHL. Last year everything clicked, this year a number of players are having off years. With a few good moves, defense, next year will be different.

Pacioretty for Hertl and 2018 first is just bad, the guy is not wort it this season plus Hertl can play at wing and C (which after Thornton retires should be his regular position - that time comes after this or next season imo so they need to keep him).

Sekera has decent possession numbers, despite supporting a group of forwards not known for their defensive prowess. Can't blame him for the oilers not making the playoffs. He was out most of the season, and is getting below .900 save% when he does play.

Benning should be playing less minutes, but he's not a guy that you should expect to be capable of covering for forward and goaltending inconsistencies.

Talbot is decent enough, but again, not good enough to mask the other issues in the lineup. He can backstop a decent team, but he can't carry a weak team. You know who has been doing just that for several years? Carey Price.

The only thing the oilers can do with their defense until the end of next year, due to NMCs, is give them more support or trade one of the ones they should keep for a RHD.

You can hope for things to be better next year, but in terms of making moves, the options are limited, and you'll likely see more of the same next season.
