2018 NHL MOCK DRAFT 2.0

Buffalo doesn’t need a RD, at least bad, Boqvist could be an elite number 1 D and but can’t fully be one with Ristolainen in that spot for at least 7+ years. Number on need is LW or LD goin in, I think Tkachuk is the perfect and very American pick at 2nd Overall. Canucks needs a RD on the other hand and Boqvist could work.
I would 100% pick Bouchard or Dobson over Merkley for the Oilers, horrible defenseman and no doubt in my mind he drops

The reason I went with Boqvist is only because after Ristolainen and Scandella, its not great. I agree a player like Tkachuk is a great pickup, Buffalo can set the way for the rest. Things can change quick after Dahlin goes 1st

I agree Bouchard and Dobson are better picks than Merkley however if Bouchard goes at 7 to MTL, EDM might have to take a risk on an player with gifted offensive abilities

I think BUF takes Boqvist regardless if they don't pick 1st.

Aside from Guhle they have nothing of consequence for defenders in the system.

Up front they have Eichel, Reinhart, Okposo, Mittelstadt and Nylander. Right there is 5 top 6 wingers they have under contract for the foreseeable future

It's a position they lack talent at in my opinion.
