Nash not fetching montour. McD not getting Nylander. Isles not taking Staal especially for second. Grabner gets first or prospects not second and fourth. Desharnais gets a fifth rounder. Zuccarello trade seems fair.

In summary, most of the trades benefit rangers. And although I'm a ranger fan myself this benefits us way too much.

Waking up as a cockroach seems more realistic than majority of these trades. TOR, CAR, NYI and mostly ANA trade are just bad.

I kinda get that TOR would like to get McDonagh, but they would not sell Nylander for him. And even if they did, they most certainly wouldn't be the part who adds a second-rounder.

CAR has signed Pesce with a long-term contract. Why on earth they'd sell a young promising d-man who has a 6-year contract just beginning for one year of forward who arguably isn't even as good as Pesce is.

Even if you retained half of Staal's contract, he is not worth 2nd rounder.

And that ANA trade is worst of all. Why would any team give a great prospect and a first rounder for two declining rental players? Would you give a package of Chytil, 2nd round and 5th round picks (around the same value that the pieces you're getting from ANA) to, let's say to Toronto for example, in exchange for Bozak and Polak? I doubt it.

From a Dallas perspective, I'm hoping Grabner is on a short list Nill is considering, but think the price might be a bit high. Every year the market changes, but last year we gave up Eaves (who had 20+ goals & more pts than Grabner does today) and received a conditional 2nd rd pick. Condition was it became a 1st if Ana went to the Conference Finals I believe, which the conditions did end up being met and we got the 1st. I don't see Nill paying that high a price, especially given Dallas is hosting the draft this year. My hope is NY will consider a pick + prospect, and if not Nill also looks at Maroon when EDM is tracking to miss the playoffs come the deadline. Dallas Stars

Grabner gets a first. McDonagh gets Nylander or Marner but you can forget the pick. Desharnais doesn't get a 3rd, maybe 4th/5th. Nash doesn't get Montour. I'd look for Kase instead but Nash isn't enough. But you can forget the pick there.
