The Pirate Connection

Created by: MattRud
Team: 2019-20 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 31, 2018
Published: Jan. 31, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is bare minimum cap space because I think this is the lowest the cap will be in two years. Should be around 82-84 Million. EK could demand more and he could go elsewhere but the connection the pirates have is undeniable.

$10M in Florida with no state tax is probably better than $11.5M in most markets

????Arizona does not take contracts of overpaid players. They take contracts of permanent LTIR, that do not cost money. Callaghan is on a Cup contender, he's not waiving for Arizona. Tampa doesn't need Karlsson really especially at 12m

Tampa could easily find a contender that would take Callahan. Its just Arizona is going to be farther from the cap floor in two years if they cant resign OEL. So this would make perfect sense for them to take him to help mentor the younger players.

I was talking about Callaghan having a NMC, I can't see his motivation to leave Tampa. And contenders don't have 5.8m to space for a non performer.

In 2019, Callahan's NMC changes to a limited NTC. So he can be moved.
