Scandella to Washington, Kane to Nashville

Created by: CuyahogaKid
Team: 2017-18 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 2, 2018
Published: Feb. 2, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Buffalo retains salary in all deals necessary
Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Åberg, Pontus
  2. Carrier, Alexandre
  3. Lindbäck, Anders
  4. 2018 1st round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Carrier is a solid prospect with top four upside but has had a down year, still, he's not Fabbro. I think Carrier would still crack Buffalo's top four easily.

Aberg is a reclamation project/ change of scenery candidate at this point. fast and talented though, but disappointng

NSH
  1. Beaulieu, Nathan
  2. Kane, Evander
Additional Details:
Im calling up Ullmark after the deadline and Lindback who is one of the AHL's top goalies replaces Ullmark in the minors.
They really don't need Beaulieu, but he does at least know Subban, and Emelin, and has an offensive skillset, although he's had a rough start to his Sabres career. He is a change of scenery candidate and will give them depth for the playoffs.
2.
BUF
  1. Lehterä, Jori
  2. Stolarz, Anthony
  3. 2018 2nd round pick (PHI)
  4. 2019 2nd round pick (PHI)
3.
BUF
  1. Budaj, Peter
  2. 2018 3rd round pick (TBL)
  3. 2018 7th round pick (TBL)
TBL
  1. Johnson, Chad
  2. Pouliot, Benoit
  3. 2018 4th round pick (BUF)
4.
BUF
  1. Hobbs, Connor
  2. 2018 1st round pick (WSH)
  3. 2018 4th round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Hobbs is a solid prospect who has had a rough AHL debut season, but could be something down the road.

Gersich I have a feeling will bolt for UFA no matter where he is at this point. BUT, i'm interested in his negotiating rights. He would be a top six forward next year for sure

Buffalo also negotiates a side backdoor deal to not deal Evander Kane to a division rival such as TB, or Pittsburgh

WSH
  1. Girgensons, Zemgus
  2. Scandella, Marco
  3. 2018 2nd round pick (BUF)
  4. 2019 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Keep in mind, Buffalo's second could be 33rd overall, so essentially Washington trades down from as low as 15 to 20's to 33.

If Gersich signs in Buffalo, Washington recieves Buffalo's 2019 second rnd pick. I know Vesey was acquired for a third, but Gersich is a better prospect

but I do think Scandella is an ideal addition for them, and you're asking less than NYR fans are asking for a much older McDonagh with a lot more miles on him.

I'd point out, though, that if the Caps can add either team's #1 LHD, they no longer have minutes for Djoos this year or next year, so rather than cobbling together hope through Hobbs, Johansen and picks, they're more likely to offer a solid rookie defenseman in Christian Djoos (plus a bit of hope, yeah).

That’s wSH trade stinks. Scandella has been good and is one of 2 top4 D they have.

I had the picks buffalo sent both being conditional.

Buffalo- Washington swap first and second round picks if Washington gets bounced in round 1. If the caps get bounced in round 1, the Sabres potentially get a top 20 pick for Scandy in a strong draft plus Adding a good prospect in Hobbs and the rights for Gersich

If Gersich signs then buffalo sends the '19 2nd as a condition, and it'd be worth it as Gersich would likely be a top six LW next year

No thanks on the 3rd trade, Buffalo isn't trading the only other competent D-man we have aside from Risto

I don’t like the idea of trading Scandella. Good contract and he’s someone we’ll need for when we’re good

Philly has not made a single trade losing draft picks since Hextall became GM, so uh, good luck with that. The closest was a draft day pick swap with Winnipeg (down 4 spots in rd 1, and gained a 2nd for a 3rd as recompense).

Philly doesn't make the trade because they have Neuvirth and Elliott both signed through next season. They don't need Lehner as a result. They will bide their time until Carter Hart is ready.
