Even if Bennett and Gunnarsson are cap dumps, why the actual **** would STL give up two higher round picks AND KYROU for a 6th d-man??

In what world is Smith a 6th? He's easily capable of playing 2nd or even 1st if needed and is locked up on a fairly team-friendly contract.

No. Just no. Even if can play top pair minutes, that doesn't make him a top pair d-man, point is that this trade is dumb for STL

smith is the only cap dump among all these players. Bennet makes just 650.000, he doesn't affect the cap at all.

shakes head No not even close. Smith is an average, run of the mill, top 4. There is literally no data to support him being a 2 or even a 1 EVER in his career. If he did, he wouldn't of been signed to a 4M contract as a UFA.

Don't bother even trying to convince me or commenting back. This is the hill I will gladly die on.

The fact the Rangers have sat him in multiple games makes him a 6th dman.
