Dallas says Noooooo. These are 2 older players with expiring contracts, and the ask is 2 prospects with high upside & a 2nd round pick...For me, Grabner would be a possibility, but I'm not sure Nill wants to go too crazy given it could negatively affect really good chemistry. But even for Grabner, I could see a prospect + pick situation, but thinking more like Hansson + 4th (Chi) would be Nill's offer. Thoughts?

Nash gets Hanzal deal. Grabner gets 1st. So you could start with Honka + 1st.

If those prices are what the market is demanding, Stars stay put. Rumor is prices are high after the haul Sakic brought in for Duchene, so you could be right, but I'd guarantee this would take Dallas out on both names. We're hosting this year's draft, so don't see the 1st being traded, and Honka's upside far exceeds what we'd get from re-signing an aging Nash to a Hanzal-type deal (which is a bad one). Maybe this shifts our focus to Maroon...

Totally Understand. It's going to be a tough market this year, The prices you listed might be enough for a 1 sided player like Vanek, but not too way scorers like Nash/Grabner.

If you'd rather someone cost controlled like Zucarello, we'd be willing to part for something like Honka, 1st next year + Ritchie probably with a low conditional pick if he resigns or you guys win cup. He'd probably be able to re-sign for under 5 mil and won't regress for awhile.

My guess is we'll only buy if we can get a piece without having to give up a current roster player. Only caveat might be including Shore if the right player came back in return. Even that's slim given how young he is, and the potential seen last year from him. I just don't believe Nill will risk disturbing the chemistry that has taken some time to come together, especially considering how well we play when all cylinders are firing. Not to mention he's one of the most patient GMs out there, he'll either wait till they come back to his offer, or he'll roll with what he's got. Either way, should be a fun month, see how it all shakes out.

Sounds about right. Aside from Heiskanen, not sure if you guys have any pieces in the system that could be the centerpiece of a deal for a top 6/top 4 piece

me? i'm a NYR fan and i think this trade is equivalent to a 1st and 2 2nd, NYR gets two young big fast LW prospects with goalscoring abilities. so don't think it's that onesided

Did I see a 1st up there? Rangers need 2 of those coming back to start the conversation. Rangers decline big time
