Description
AZ gets the best player AND that player is still an ELC for 2 more years. This type of player like Clayton Keller is what AZ dreams of. NO I didn't just say Debrincat is equal to Clayton Keller...I said this type player that can score while on an ELC...with that said I do think they're kinda close...like 1 and 1A rather than 1 and 2. Debrincat gets more help than Keller, but not as much as you'd think. He's bounced around all three lines and it's really been pretty amazing to watch this kid play with just about anyone and succeed. Hossa gives AZ optionality when it comes to playing hardball with their existing ELCs. Chad Krys gives them another A-/B+ prospect that can play on their blue line and won't cost them much. The 2nd is another pick in their arsenal.

It's an interesting idea for sure, but I don't think trading DeBrincat away with Seabs helps the hawks get any better.

Edit: I just realized you moved Hossa, who we can LTIR, this really doesn't help the hawks at all. DeBrincat is too good to move for dead cap that we can get rid of anyways.

I thought about adding Murphy, but I also have a $3.5M "Vet Winger" There could be more cap space in either of those two places, but I hear ya.

I just don't think trading the 2nd best goal scorer helps in any way. AZ would be all over that trade though thats for sure.

The whole Hossa scenario makes sense but it has to make the "right" sense. There are teams that could take him on without a worry but I'm not sure the above would be one of them. Probably more like Hossa+draft picks for cheap bottom 6 player. (Example)
