This is what it would look like if BOS went all in...

Description
I DON'T LIKE IT!!! We'd fall short of what NYR are asking for McDonagh; they are looking for a blue chip, a 1st in 2018, and a current roster asset. We don't have the asset to give them so I'm trying to overcompensate by giving them another 1st. I'm hoping this would beat the highest bid they receive. Also in order to pull this off we would need to get rid of Beleskey's cap hit to have the available space to pull it off. I'm figuring it would take a 2nd in order for someone to eat his salary. I think the OTT trade is balanced, but without the defenseman package I wouldn't make the trade by itself. All this said I like where we are at right now and think we should pick up a #7 or #8 LHD and a #13 or #14 RW without touching any current roster pieces. We are the hottest team in the league; "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". But, I wanted to do a trade mock up of what it would look like if we went all in at the TDL, so here it is... Also Postma would have to be sent down; I don't know if he would clear waivers. This might be a loss we would have to take.

All in would likely be OEL and a usable RW. Vanek maybe.

I don’t think OTT takes that. NYR might but i think they get better offer from TB.

On board with Beleskey to Canes. Was thinking Beleskey-2nd for Stempniak

What i think we are more likely to see——Spooner, Vatrano, and 2nd to Vancouver for Vanek-Hutton.

Agree that it would take more to get Stone, he's arguably Ottawa's best forward and brings a lot of intangibles to the table.
McDonagh trade seems like too much but would try and snag him, how often does a top 2 LHD come up in the market. Would be more defensively sound and a closer Chara replacement than OEL.

I like the idea of OEL he's got a sick wrister and a booming slap shot
I also think TBL will out bid us in the McDonagh war
Beleskey to the Canes is the only thing that makes sense for us and them (if they want the pick) they are the only team that has the cap space and not maxed on contracts

Not enough for Stone IMO. The rest looks fine.

Arizona might work too. Beleskey and 2nd for Richardson or Connauton. Expiring contracts that aren’t worth a 2nd on their own and they can use Beleskey to help get them to cap floor next few years.

Sure ARI would work if we took a contract coming back the other way, but we'd have to because ARI is sitting on 50 right now. Connauton would work, Richardson wouldn't give us much relief this season, but it would be nice to finally be done with it next season.

Do you think it would be enough for Ryan Dzingel AND Colin White?

I've got this crazy idea going on in my head were we do that then flip Dzingel for Hartman and Kempny (and still left with Colin White)

Spooner and Dzingel are pretty similar. Not sure what the point of that would be and Senyshen for White, well since White is a center I think Ottawa would rather keep him.

Heard trade rumors earlier in the season when Hartman/Anisimov/Kane wasn't producing quite the totals CHI was hoping for that CHI was shopping for a LH LW to put with Kane to see if that didn't correct the problem; Dzingel was one of the guys CHI was really interested in (however a trade never happened). By flipping, it would give CHI a true LH LW and BOS Hartman (moving him to the RW) a true RH RW... But the real interest is in 2015 1st round draft pick Colin White. He is also playing RW in OTT but is a natural C. What is his potential? He has the ability to play on both the wing and center, but I'm more interested in his max potential. If OTT won't move him the whole thing is a moot point.
