this is true, but the current teams linked to him will all have their 1st rounder in the 25-31st ovr range - that's why NYR probably seeks better pieces accompanying this. next problem: McDs play has been worse than in the past years which may be due to him playing injured all year. he's currently sitting out, probably to get into a condition that would make him of any use for any taker.

imo rangers shoulld just try to work out a long term deal with him and try a quick rebuild they have the pieces and the metro is so crazy that next year if done properly (trade grab nash and a few others ) they could be in the heat of it again
