I don't think the Rangers or Sens consider those offers. Going to have to at least make the 2nds into 1sts, and even then they'd get better offers elsewhere.

That's not enough for McDonagh or Hoffman. The Sharks deal sucks as well. Trading a veteran defenseman for a draft pick going into the playoffs where injuries play a huge part. I'd much prefer McQuaid subbing in for an injury over Postma.

Switch McDonagh and Carlo. Take out Anders Bjork, and include him in a deal for McDonagh to get that ball actually rolling. Even if you made a trade with the Rangers and didn't include Bjork, he isn't NHL ready and should go to the AHL after he's off IR to continue to grow his game. Slide DeBrusk back up, and move Nash back up to 3LC, and put Backes back on the RW.

Not enough for NYR or OTT... and why would you trade McQuaid before the TDL 1) he'd be more valuable during the draft 2) out of our defensive corps he's 1 of 2 defensemen that have won a Stanley Cup (the other being Chara) 3) he's a body that fills a hole in case of injury or suspension which we otherwise don't have any other RHD besides Postma (and according to your mock up your sending him through waivers so there's a good chance we lose him for nothing)

Not sure anyone grabs Postma on waivers. I guess it's a possibility, but he's not really that good lol. If you claim him, you need to keep him on the roster, so is there a team who views Postma as an upgrade on what they already have?

I agree on McQuaid, but one thing I see you bring up that I'm meh on as a reason to not deal him is the Stanley Cup ring one. When the Bruins won the Cup, who had a ring? Recchi and Thornton... The rest did not. On this 2018 Bruins roster, they have Chara, Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci along with McQuaid. They also have Krug, Backes, Kevan Miller with playoff experience and SC experience. That's just not a reason that I use to argue keeping him.

You make a strong argument on Postma lol. I don't deal our Stanley Cup guys; most of the rest of our talent is young kids the experience and leadership they can share will be invaluable. To be honest I don't know if I make any moves at the TDL. I like the group of guys we got and I'm anxious to see what they can do. Come draft time we'll need to make a few changes to start making room for bigger contracts, but that's down the road; I say right now we take the red hot group we have and we focus on the Cup. I think we're sitting on a really good squad.

I'm in the grouping of "If they make a deal, I'm cool with it (as long as the price is fair), but if they don't make a move, I won't complain". I

I don't understand why everyone undervalues McQuaid. You won't see K. Miller again except for an injury. If you really want to trade him, Toronto will give you 2nd in a heart beat, just so he can come back and kick our a..

We've only got about 2.0 in cap space (after we send Bjork down) so in order to make a big move it would involve moving another asset; I just don't feel good about it with the way we've been playing. I wouldn't mind adding a couple of depth players but even that's dicey. If we add a forward they would have to be a right handed shot and it would be a bonus if they could play all 3 positions. They would also have to be better than anyone we currently have in the system waiting to come up. Nothing like narrowing the search criteria... lol. Ryan Hartman comes to mind but I'm not sure what the cost would be if even CHI would be willing to move him. If a defenseman, it would be nice to have a guy behind Grzelcyk for this year, a left handed shot, Kempny comes to mind, also CHI. But as said before it would be an expensive insurance policy, and I don't know if it would be worth it. It definitely couldn't touch any current roster pieces so we're talking about picks and/or prospects... I just don't know if it would be worth while...

Bruins will have $3,397,058 in cap space according to this site at the time of the trade deadline. Cap hits for players are all prorated as well. There's a lot more to this than hard numbers.
