Just wanted to see how the roster looks so far for next year.

Don't mind the teams and picks involved in Smith and Burrows trades. Couldn't pick the 2018 picks for some reason. And I have no idea which teams would be interested, just a random guess.

So that's how the roster looks if Brassard is not traded.

its a stretch that anyone will take burrows the way he has played since coming to ottawa. I like ceci but also not at that cost. He still has a lot of potential and improvements to make.

Well, the new team team acquiring him would at least give him that. A lot of GMs have been pursuing him for a while. Ceci's value is going to be more clear when he will eventually have the right role on another team (could still be Ottawa, but the problem is no one is better defensively on that defense. Usually Karlsson is, but not this year)

Also, you should probably take a look at this and analyze the NHL market for D-men :

Burrows only has 1 year left at 2.5. I agree it's not guaranteed somebody will want him but he has a solid track record and it's just 1 year.

He was good last year down the stretch and in the playoffs. In his first 49 games with Ottawa (including the playoffs and the start of this year), he had 9 goals, 12 assists, 21 points and +9 (35 pts pace, which is good 3rd line numbers) but only 3 assists in 37 games since. Like the rest of the team, his game went downhill when they came back from Sweden

Concerning Ceci, he is asked to be the team's #2 D-man playing a shutdown role when he should be a #3/4 two-way D-man. He will flourish when a team uses him the right way.

100% agree Ceci should be a #3 d man and needs to be used the right way i don't know if 4.5 mil is worth that tho looking at all the players in that range he is not really their equal he is closer to the level of the players making 3.7-4 mil the nice thing is he is still young and would love to see him play for my team. I have had the pleasure of watching him with the 67's and the sens living in ottawa. I really like him but 4.5 would be top dollar at this point in his carreer and with the sens currently taking offers on trading him (wrong move if they do) They will need him because as it sounds karlson might not be around. I think Burrows is done unless he can get a different role and even then he might not have anything left. He isn't the annoying hard to play against guy he used to be even. He is frustrated and his actions show, he will be 37-38 when his contract is done and is getting really slow out there. If he isn't going to at least be the pest he was know for why would anyone give him a shot.
