Offer Sheets?

Description
I'm not 100% sure on how many offer sheets a team can do in a single off-season. But could this be an option for the Bruins to bring in both a LHD to eventually fill in top-4 role once Chara leaves, and another RHD to take top-4 minutes.

I don't know what the market value will be for Nurse or Trouba, or what their respective teams will be able to match, but they would be two guys I would look at.

Again, on me not knowing the intricacies of Offer Sheets, I don't know if these are possible where they both require 1st and 2nd round picks. If the Bruins can't give 2018 and 2019 picks out on offer sheets for the 2018-2019 season, then I think my preference would be to gun for Nurse.

Would you guys be willing to see the Bruins to give up draft picks on offer sheets if the return was solid enough?

            Unfortunately, you cannot offer sheet more than one RFA at a time if the compensation needed for both deals is involved in another.

            By offer sheeting Darnell Nurse, it requires a 2018 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (all BOS picks). By offer sheeting Jacob Trouba, it requires (2) 1st round picks (2018 and 2019) and a 2018 2nd and 3rd round pick (all BOS picks).

            The compensation won't work because you cannot get both of those players.

            No problem man. Also, any deal over 5 years, in order to calculate the AAV compensation, you take the AAV (lets use Nurse: 5M) and you multiple that by the term of the contract (7 years). You then take that number (35) and divide it by 5 in order to find the compensation AAV (7M). That number (7M) is the number used to determine the draft pick compensation that is required to be sent to their team.

            I don't put in an offer sheet unless it's someone like Hanifin, and I'm offering a boat load of money. I don't package McQuaid with Spooner for a pick. Each one of those guys hold value and are worth a pick on their own. Spooner and a 1st could be used to move up in the draft for an earlier 1st round pick. McQuaid I hold on to, but if you're hell bent on getting rid of him I think he would go for a later round pick. Beleskey you would more than likely need to cough up a pick in order for a team to eat his salary even if they are scratching the floor...

            Honestly boston would be better off making trade offers for either then offer sheet. I mean if Edmonton felt they cant resign Nurse and Boston going heavy they'd prob go for players over picks.
