Don’t get me wrong, I just don’t see how a bigger trade is possible given the assets the pens have and would need to part with. Not to mention the cap situation.
Sure, packages of Sheary, Sprong, Jarry, picks plus could land something more significant. But Sheahan has been playing well and McCann could be a decent target without giving up any of the above mentioned.
Looking for a 3c or someone who can play 3c/4c that isn’t going to cost the amount of assets that a big name 3c is going to cost and maybe looking for an upgrade on LW would be the way to go.

JR thinks otherwise. JR sees that big trade that puts us over the top. The stories coming out about JR happy with Sheahan as 3C are JR’s backup IF JR doesn’t trade for a Brassard-type center.

I agree, and centre depth is key. Brassard would be a great addition. But to make the money work the pens need to ship out salary. With the exception of Sheary I don’t see the Ottawa taking back salary. So the pens would need to shed it in another deal. Possible.
