Description
Now i know I’m OVER the CAP but if i remember correctly at the deadline contracts are put against the cap for what’s remaining for the current season? Correct me if I’m wrong. With that said it was truly hard for me to include heinen in this deal but from what I’ve heard and read any starting point for McDonough it’s debrusk/Carlo/Heinen. To me personally debrusk feels better in the long term and moving Carlo weakens our right side, so i went with Heinen in the deal. Idk if they would bite on Spooner instead? And maroon gives us some good size up front and rumors have been linked with Boston and maroon. I could be way off with this just throwing it out there for thoughts

Yea, that’s probably a no from edmonton, no need for another Left handed C when we have 3 skilled ones.
Needs in order:
1.)skilled finishing winger (preferably right handed)
2.)QB RD
————————————-
3a.)right handed Center (if required)
3b.)penalty killing forwards
4.)goalie
5.)any defenseman.

If we’re going any B prospects or decent NHLer, we’d probably go for an asset that may fit a need in the future.

Don't like either trade for Boston. I wouldn't trade Donato for Maroon straight up.

Believe me i didn’t want to do it but according to “rumors” you’re gonna have to give up Heinen/Carlo/debrusk to get McDonough and I felt long term out of the 3 Heinen was the best one to move

I honestly think the best road would be to break contact with the NYR and end trade negotiations. We have the top rated defense in the league; we don't need McDonagh that bad. Having to choose to discard one Heinen/Carlo/DeBrusk/McDonagh, I would choose to discard McDonagh. That's just me.

No way, stay in the talks just to drive up the price for Tampa. Make them give up as much NHL assets and quality players as possible.
