Classic "rental for prospect" trade. DiDomenico has been pretty good for OTT, and Pokka doesn't have a place on the Hawks anymore. However, OTT still gets someone who's a pending RFA and could potentially be a part (even if a small one) of their future. Moreover, CHI should be selling at this point. Thus, advantage OTT. (But not by much.)

Sure DiDomenico has been good in Ottawa but I still think that Ottawa wins this one because Pokka has shown plenty of flashes of brilliance on the AHL team mostly and a little bit in Chicago.

Rental for prospect trade. Kinda weird of Chicago trading a prospect. Ottawa wins because DiDomenico won't resign with the Black hawks. Pokka could have a small part in the Sens future. Who knows?

The Blackhawks acquired DiDomenico in 2010 from Toronto for Versteeg, then didn't even bother resigning him when his ELC expired.

A bust for a bust I suppose, but I think Pokka definitely has some potential - it's not too late for him to turn it around because he's still fairly young.

This appears to be more of an AHL trade.. I don't see any spot in the Hawks lineup for DiDomenico - I mean he's a 4th liner at best.

I don't see the point in this trade.

Pokka could never be a full-time NHLer, and he could also be a top 4 defenseman. I think he might be a 6th d-man maybe, but he's definitely got a lot of potential. IMO Ottawa wins the trade and Chicago should have maybe got a pick, but it's not too far off.

Well, the simple fact he didn't make it to the show with the Hawks this season when you factor in the crap the Hawks have on the back-end speaks volumes where Pokka is at in his development.

I had I hopes for him too, I thought he was going to be a top 4 stud. Too bad, now the Leddy trade looks even worse.

Both players were placed on waivers and both went unclaimed before this trade was made.

Fair deal.
