CLAUSE DETAILS: Player submits a 10 team trade list | ** As part of his 2 year extension signed on Sept 27, Backlund's modified no trade in the last season of his current deal was converted to a Full No Move clause [ CBA 11.8(b) ]
I feel like Backlund is one of the most underrated players in the league. He puts up similar offensive numbers than Derek Stepan and is a better defensive center. An excellent 2C option locked up for a great value. Well done Calgary.

Good for Calgary to lock him up before free agency. He likely could have made more on the open market, but now Calgary has that 3M line locked down for at least the next two years after this one; one of the best lines in hockey.
