gudbranson is a 6th dman, leafs aren't doing that. canucks really overrate their average players.

This is the exact same value you got for polak when he was traded to the sharks, 2 2nd round picks. Polak is a fringe 6th dman but teams value grit especially for the playoffs.

but the leafs have polak and carrick, still as their 6th d, a team has still has to have the maximum 23 roster. Dermot is a starter with the leafs, it's a crappy deal for leafs, as suggested by other early if gudbranson and tanev have any trade value can't they be traded to other teams besides the leafs.

You overrate Dermot who is a 4/5 guy and will be that forever. Guddy has upside and thrives in the eastern conference. And also fills a gap in the leads right side.

Only change I'd make is to the D lineups

Edler Stecher
Del zotto Pouliot
Dermot Hutton
Biega Holm

no, you're just upset, that someone how called you out regarding your easy detectable fibs. gudbranson is going to be traded soon, and he certainly isn't going to return a 21 year old starting dman.

shakes head. dermot is just starting his nhl career, gudbranson should be at this peak, which is a 6th dman at best. no reason to think gudbranson has upside.

No fibs man just facts.

And Dermot could be starting now but we don't know where he'll end up in the future. Gudbranson has been a rock before injuries messed him up in Vancouver. Actually pretty recently he's actually played very well

Gudbranson peak is still top 4 Maybe higher as he's shown that he can elevate his game when needed just like in the playoff series in Florida.

Your argument destroys itself as u state that Gudbranson is older than Dermot but that just means there's more to look at. GM could see Gudbranson injury troubles in van and then look back to his Florida days and see how important he was there. Plus Gudbranson has been good lately. So he's still valuable and still a top 4 guy.

Dermot personally isn't even worth arguing about as I don't see him being anything but a 4-6 type of defenceman

Gudbranson is a 3rd-line Dman on a terrible team. His underlying numbers are some of the worst in the NHL. He's only ever been a positive Corsi player once in his NHL career. This year he is sporting a 43.3% Corsi For which is 3rd worst in the ENTIRE NHL for Dmen (175th out of 178) that have played at least 500min. If people want to say he brings "grit", well Del Zotto and Biega are both throwing more hits per game than him this season so there goes that argument.

The fact that anyone thinks he is worth a 2nd and Dermott is clueless. The Canucks would be lucky to get a 3rd and fringe prospect.

either some canucks fans or leaf haters. think the leafs need to an out of playoffs team 6h defencemen. leafs have two polak and carrick don't need a third.
how many top four dmen do canucks have, seemingly more than leafs, very hard to believe from a neutral observer. enjoy the lottery
