Much better, trade would have to be in the offseason so the Blues have the cap-space

I know Blues fans won't like it but no way I move Backstrom with out Robert Thomas involved.

Unfortunately that is true. We'd definitely consider it for Backstrom, it'd have to be after we miss out on signing John Tavares this offseason though.

I would still accept. The reason that we are so opposed to trading Thomas for Pacioretty is because Thomas is our best shot at a real 1c. If you get Backstrom who is a current 1c than trading Thomas is so much easier.
