Would Florida Do This?

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Ran the lottery and Buffalo slides to 5th overall. Buffalo selects Brady Tkachuk and he decides to play one more year in college

PIT and NYI deals are at 2018 TDL and are pretty common ones used here.

The Florida Deal is a big one. Bjustad has steadily decreased the last few seasons in Florida and could use a change of scenery. Luongo and Reimer is a very expensive tandem for Florida and Sateri coming out and playing big could become a solid value contract compared to Reimer’s. Buffalo takes on these two contracts and Florida takes on Bogosian in return. Bogosian has been injury prone but still is a solid two way RHD defender when healthy. They also acquire a 2nd rounder and a decent RW prospect

Chicago Deal is to get Beaulieu a change of scenery with a team that needs a overhaul on defense.

UFAs Thomas Vanek and Jan Rutta come to Buffalo to help keep them make a jump up the standings and support the youngsters. Thomas Vanek I think would look to come back to Buffalo for his last couple years and help the turnaround and is a solid scorer that can hold down time in the top-6 and be a contributor on the PP. Jan Rutta has put up points on a rough Blackhawks team and is playing just under 20min a night. His size and offensive ability could be welcomed to this blue line. A one year deal will probably be enough just because of Chicago’s struggles and negative +/-

The salary cap is tight this year, but Pominville, Hagelin, and Moulsons contracts coming off the books give Buffalo a lot of cap space to make a potential splash next offseason and room for youngsters in the lineup to get raises in the future.

No, Fla would not do that.

What would have to change? Both players are on pretty heavy contracts in comparison to their production.

Bjugstad is younger, cheaper, signed longer term, playing on first line. They have Ekblad at #1 RD. Pysyk, Petrovic, Weegar behind him are nothing to get excited about but can handle the 2 and 3 slots enough thry don’t need to trade away a decent piece with a reasonable contract to upgrade there.

Just don’t see this as beneficial to them at all.

Bogosion and Chad Johnson for Reimer and pick would make more for sense for Fla if they were looking to go that route though i know Reimer wasn’t really the target there.

I guess I just know Bjustad has sort of fallen off the last couple seasons and his offense isn’t as high as it should’ve been anymore, which I guess is why I figured getting out from under that money could be admirable. Reimer also is paid rather highly so I figured two slight overpayments for a solid overpayment (bogosian just because of injuries really) and two young assets could be intriguing to a team that is near the bottom. Bogosian can also play left side worst comes to worse regarding your RHD thing.

That deal wouldn’t be horrible for Buffalo as I think Lehner will be with a new team next season with our youngster Ullmark coming up who is lighting up the AHL. Getting Reimer to potentially split 50/50 or be a real solid backup for a few seasons wouldn’t be the worst as we could move out from under Bogosians Deal.

I like targeting a player like Bjugstad, but I don't think any team is trading for Bogosian.
