You're wanting to buy Carlo when his stock is high... 1st and Kerfoot would probably get talks started...

You're not getting Drouin unless you offer Makar or Rantanen

We buy Beleskey out in the summer we're talking just over 1 million in cap penalty for 4 years (eating that is not a problem) when looking at the grander scheme of things Carlo is much more valuable to us than getting rid of Beleskey's contract (whether that be on the ice or in a trade)

Love the idea of Drouin but pass from the Avs.

Drouin hasn't done much in this league to justify moving a 20 year old rookie C in Jost who has a high ceiling. Plus add the draft picks.....no way.

He was amazing in the '16 playoffs and he might find chemistry with mackinnon again

So to get Drouin a 29 point in 53 games Winger Avs have to offer up one of the Best young D Prospects in the game or offer their 53 point in 57 games winger who is still on his ELC.

Yeah that makes 0 Sense. Drouin isnt worth his elevated price tag and Montreal really botched that by moving a guy like Sergechev for him. Drouin isnt a saviour and teams aren't going to save the Habs from their mistakes

might find chemistry is the key world there. Avs dont need Drouin, it would be a nice to have, but they have a plan to develop their C Depth as MacK, Jost, and 3C is either Compher or Kamenev. Jost is the only guy who has the ability to be a true Top 6 C and its not good business to break from this development plan. Its working so far for them in the Post Roy era Avs, why would they move from this now

Ive thought about that too but only works if 1 he signs short term 2-3 years and Soderberg is moved

Hes not going to sign for 5m. The guy will be a high in demand UFA being a very serviceable Centre. To be honest all your numbers for guys are way off. Too low, besides Hörnqvist, you are asking them all to take pay cuts coming off good years. Isnt going to happen

Nieto nemeth comeau and bernier arent underpayments by any means and stastny will be a 2nd line center which is worth 5 million I would hope he would give us a discount because he was practically raised here

Bernier at 1.75m...down from his 2.75m. You are asking him to take 1m less after one heck of a season and being paid well below market value for UFA 1B starters like himself?
St. Louis is his home town, he grew up there. Stastny went to school at U of D, thats basically about it. He didn't take less money to sign in his home town, hes not going to take a 2m pay cut to sign back in Denver when he can get his 7m somewhere else again

Mikael Backlund just signed a 6 year deal at 5.35m. Flames has to go 6 years and a NMC to get that number down. Stastny is a few years older but a far more complete C. Why would he sign less than Backlund on lesser term. Thats how the market works, he won't

Hes not a 1b hes a backup, stop it, and stastny was drafted by colorado and didnt he play his 1st 9 years there or something like that hes older but those few years older will count against him more than it would in past free agencys because of NHLs rapid shift to fast skilled young players.

Not a hope of getting either for an underperforming winger.
