Habs fan: "No" -- but a tentative no.

If the Habs are in a position to draft #1 overall, they won't be able to pass it up. It's just not realistic. So that pick would need to be protected. On the level, given the two teams, Price and Max for Leon and Klefbom (or the EDM pick) would be fair. If the Oilers get to the SC next year and/or re-sign Pacioretty, it's a good deal as is. If the Oilers are still horrible next year and/or Pacioretty leaves, the Habs' #1 pick in 2020 could be offered up conditionally.

What the **** did i just read lmao. Edmonton doesn't need Price...especially with that contract. Also why the **** would you trade away a potential franchise defenseman???

Lol or one year of Pacioretty..

Draisaitl hasn’t even reached his prime, why would we trade that for a goalie who looks like he will leave his prime sooner than later, on a contract till he’s 38 worth more than Drai lol

You get Price long contract + Dahlin (Franchise D) for a Franchise Center in Draisaitl ( Like if you trade Karlsson vs Draisaitl)

I know it's not realistic... Oilers fans will be upset to associate another Trade from MTL.
=imagine like your suggestion Price-Pacc + cond 1st 2019 for Drai-Klef without Dahlin!!! OUTCH!!!
From a Habs fan... you will never trade a Franchise D like Dahlin... if its for a Franchise C like DrDrai I will

The questions are: 1) can Talbot win a Cup for the Oilers. If so, then the rest is moot. If not, then ... 2) do real hockey scouts -- pro scouts who cover the NHL — know what's up with Price? If yes, and it's curable, then he's still the among the best goalies in the league. If no (the scouts can't figure out what's wrong), then there's no reason any team anywhere should take that risk. He becomes Montreal's train wreck.

I agree... but if MTL scouts decide to give 84M to a Goalie... I believe they think he is one of the best... otherwise Mtl 2 floor need to justify this signature!
So pretending (because here all we can do is pretending :-) ) Price still can be Top 5 G for the next 5y... Will you do it: Drai for Price?

I would probably make a Price-for-Draisaitl deal because I think it helps better balance both teams. I don't think Price is washed up and he would help the Oilers. I think Draisaitl will be a very good player -- probably not a great one, but certainly a dominant NHL forward for a lot of years — so on balance, it's a pretty fair trade.
