Description
Doug Armstrong has some huge decisions to make in the next week. In my oppinion, the Blues were the best team in the west for the first two months of the season, but that team is gone and hasn't been seen in two months. There are trades coming that is for sure. There is no way that Armstrong will continue to watch this team lose in every way possible. The way I see it the Blues either need a blockbuster or they need to sell. This team is not one player away so trading the farm away for Pac or Hoffman makes no sense. If they sell they won't trade everyone who I traded, but these are just some options. Usually when a team has made the playoffs for six straight years and then misses their window is over, but the Blues are much different. Our best players are pretty young and we've got Kostin, Kyrou, Thomas, and Thompson coming up. Also, selling off pieces doesn't have to mean we'll miss the playoffs because we sold Shatternkirk last year and got better. Now the trades:
I'm not sure if the Sharks would want Berglund, but his value is probably a high second rounder.
Sobotka would be a solid 3c in Pitt and they would only give up a second rounder and an average prospect. I've seen Leafs fans on here wanting another center and Stastny fits that bill. Besides Brassard, Stastny is the best center on the market and he would get at least a first. A 1st and Grundstrom is a high ask, but I also took back the Lupul Contract. Upshall and Brodziak both get late picks and likely get resigned by the Blues in the offseason. Gunnarson has value and if Holden got a 3rd plus than Gunnarson can get a 3rd as well. Although Hutton is leading the league in GAA and save percentage, he is a pending UFA and a career backup. A 4th is probably fair. I included all of the prospects on the team just to show the organizational depth at every position and also because the team this year doesn't matter if we sell.
