Sorry but that Jets trade is ugly. There's no way the Jets give up a guy playing in their top 9 AND a 1st round pick for Shaw + middling draft picks. Also, I just don't see the Jets being interested in a guy like Shaw to begin with. There's no way the Jets are better after this trade, and frankly, they are probably significantly worse over the next 2-3 years.

There was a rumour out there that Jets inquired about Shaw... And yeah, I got greedy. Thanks for the feedback.

I like how it's either black or white on this website. Stop saying there's no way, there's no way..... It's always there's no way or thank for the laugh. lol. We are just fans with GM platform, but still, try being more interesting in your comments, and mostly, try not caring too much. Cause guess what,Shaw is a 26 years old top 9 too! Even top 6 with MTL wink He's got a playoff style of hockey, which some teams would give their 1st for, not Roslovic. Remove the picks, add a 3rd with Shaw and you got a deal.

I agree that the Shaw trade is a little over the top, but the Jets have a chance to go really far in the playoffs. They shouldn't hold back. Adding a good PK forward with Stanley Cup experience would be a smart move. Pleks would also be a good option here instead. Also adding a seasoned goalie and a steady defenceman who can deal with the grind once the refs start letting stuff go (and they will) would help them. Not sure Montreal can help with the D and G issue, but Shaw/Pleks would be a smart pickup.

The Max deal is fair, though risky because it becomes a very cheap deal for St. Louis if Max leaves or is traded.

Not sure why AZ would be interested in Galchenyuk. I'm not saying it's not a fair deal, just that I don't see AZ trading 2-for-1.

Wouldn't trade Gallagher unless I was sure you're getting the best player in the trade. And why would Calgary want Niemi, whose contract expires at the end of the season?

Niemi is a throw in, rumours they may want a backup goalie. Niemi has been good with Montreal this season despite the results. Take him out and its the same deal. More of just an idea.

Just saying, there's no way the Jets give up a cost-effective first rounder, plus a 1st round pick for four more years of Andrew Shaw.

Shaw for Petan + 3rd? Sure

Shaw for Brendan Lemieux + 3rd? Sure

Roslovic + 1st? Hard pass.

I just can't see how losing a 1st round pick AND Roslovic for $3.9M of Andrew Shaw fits into the long term plan for the next four years. There are so many new contracts that need signing (Laine + Connor + Morrissey + Trouba + Hellebuyck + Wheeler + Lowry) AND Ehlers new deal kicking in next year. If you pay Shaw $3.9M that likely means losing one of those soon to be RFA's.

If you're retaining 50% of Shaw's salary, MAYBE you get Petan + Lipon + 2nd.
