Description
High risk moves that would drastically alter the few futures Pittsburgh has in its system.

Easily the most active ACGM I've made. I'll probably get panned for not giving enough on Drouin (although his value is eroding steadily) and Nichushkin (rumored to be on the block). But I don't think I'd be very far off.

Stars trade a talented young F for a talented young D. Overall talent is close, Dallas gets another year of control on the D which develop slower (wash). Lightning essentially reset the clock on their young F and get a draft pick for their trouble.

The rest of the deals shed cap and recoup futures. With a good chunk of cap space available the pending RFAs won't be a problem. Pit also suddenly has a scary good 3rd line. The 3rd pairing can continue to be sheltered along with the 4th line. Moving forward they're set to draft D and reload as Kunitz fades.

High risk, but even value trades. I personally wouldn't do either, because I think Pouliot has a higher upside than Nichuskin (plus Defense is a weak point for the Pens whereas RW is now), and because I think Sprong projects to end up a better player than Drouin, at least in my eyes. But the cases are there for each trade and its well thought out.

I'd prefer tol hold onto Pouliot and Sprong over Nichuskin and Drouin.
Sprong is a shooter while drouin is more of a playmaker perimeter player. We have 2 great playmaking centers that need a forward who likes to pull the trigger. But talent wise equal just differing styles.
I think Pouliot could fetch more than Nichuskin. I'd like to get Nichuskin as he is a big power forward in the making but a cheap top 4 D in the making in Pouliot is hard to give up.

Thanks you both. While I too think DP is a very valuable asset, I think it's worth considering what he'd return in a trade. Because the left D is an area of strength thanks to Dumolin having a breakout year. I agree with you both that it ought to be a very good return if he's moved.

I think either Nichushkin or Drouin would be about on par talent wise. I think in the long run Drouin end up replacing Kunitz. Kunitz's chemistry with Crosby is best demonstrated by his area passes. So getting a play maker like Drouin would make up for that. Nichushkin is a shooter, a big body, and if you feel LW is a bigger need I imagine he could play LW. But with Sprong and Bennett gone I think both wings need young talent.

Thank you both for commenting. Glad others feel it's fair and reasonable.
