Leafs actually are fine cap wise next year so martin may not be one of the Triplets but if he is traded they will expect atleast some depth forwards in return.

Coyotes are broke. They can't afford to buy picks and players via the Orpik trade and retention. $2.75M + 6th + 7th for Lazar + 2nd? Even if we were flush with cash, the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

You're overpaying Connauton by a lot, especially if he gets a two year. I also doubt Richardson gets that kind of money unless he has an incredible final 20 games.

At this point, you also have to figure that one of Crouse, Merkley, or '18 top-5 draft pick is going to be on the opening night roster.

Yeah you're right, looked at their cap room next year, Komorov is either taking a pay cut or moving on, and JVR might not be back.

Got rid of Connauton and lowered Richardson contract. I think the Coyotes are going to bring Strome up next year out of training camp the others I'm not 100% on.

But what do you mean the Coyotes are broke? Are the working on a forced interior cap maximum? Since right now they have the most cap space in the NHL.

I think they operated on a 56M internal budget this year. The cap floor will be between 58 and 60M next year. They might take on some fake money contracts to keep the budget low for one more year, especially if it's worth their while. Ownership has to be focused on getting a new stadium before they can spend money on the roster. Two more ELCs (Strome + ?) keeps the on-ice budget low. But they also need to start winning soon.
