Well the Islanders had injuries on the blueline so it could work.

+1. Davidson is actually a pretty decent defenseman, and is an RFA. Great move by Snow.

Davidson is a cap dump that was nice to get rid of.

Wasn't getting a huge role in Edmonton but is a pretty good d-man ... win-win.

Davidson has been in waivers twice quite recently. Great return and asset management from Edmonton.

A lot of fans are really hard in this deal, I think he’s worth a 4th. But if you watched games, he’s a pretty good defenseman, he’s a little Raw, but does whatever need defensively, takes his man, can be aggressive. Which is more than I can say about any other Oiler defenseman. Good trade for the Islanders.

Lol, Oilers win easily. Makes sense for Isles though.

The analysis here to quite simple. Davidson cleared waivers twice and Oilers still got a 3rd with him. So, any team that traded for him would lose, whatever offer they made for.

I like Davidson's game. But this is a slam-dunk for the Oilers. Turning a waiver claim bottom-pair defenseman into a third-round pick is magic.

Here's to hoping Davidson's 3rd tenure with the Oilers, when they pick him up from waivers again, will last longer sarcasm

This trade favors the Oilers, don't get me wrong, but I'm okay with it if this means Seidenberg goes on waivers. I just wish Edmonton fleeced us for a bottom 6 forward too so we could put Chimera on waivers too.

Isles needed defense. This trade got us defense. I think we needed a more high profile acquisition than this, but I'll take it.
