Olofsson is a good pickup. Let's see what he can do before we call him a minor leaguer

He was calling everyone but Olofsson minor leaguers.

I guess I read it wrong. We still got some solid players from other trades that included these players.

No, I didn't mean Olosfsson.....I meant the Rychel, Valliev, Shankaruk and Baun combo. Montreal did exactly what should do with that 2nd rounder (Olosfsson).....drafted a guy with hope.

Why do we have to get rid of the turtleneck legend?

He's still a hab for life (fans and him both agree). We got 1/2 Kulak and Jacob Olofsson, I think we are fine with that.

He sucked with the leafs anyways lol. Absolute beast in the faceoff circle for some reason.

He was a solid player in the playoffs for them, but the trade was useless as it didn't push them over the top.

He was a producer, just not in points. He was a key player on the Penalty Kill and was key in getting possession (Yes through faceoffs). He wasn't acquired to put up points.

looking back at this trade you can say toronto won . 7 playoffs games 2 goals 2 assists. All the assets MTL got pretty much went to the garbage. Olofsson had some promise but hes not even a top ten prospect in the system and may not even get a contract offer.

Montreal gave up nothing, other than the slight discomfort of seeing Pleky in a Leafs’ jersey. They basically got Olofsson for free, which isn’t bad at all, he still has the potential to be a good 3rd line C.

You can add that MTL ended up getting Kulak from this trade since they flipped Valiev along with another AHLer for him not long after. That alone should give the Habs the win on this deal

Valiev was the main piece Calgary got when we got Kulak, that instantly means we won the trade. Olofsson still has potential so let's not write him off yet.
