Spooner auction: minimum starting bid = any 2018 2nd

Rules: auction ends May 3rd 11:59pm
Only 2018 picks count
Only b or better prospects count: to be a b prospect a player must have been drafted in the first 3 rounds or a late pick who has risen dramatically since being drafted.
I hold sole discretion of value judging unless a case of very similar value which would indicate a tie. In result of a tie, the person who offered that value first is declared winner. Any bid that meets the starting criteria can win if not outbid. He will be sold to highest bidder even if only one bid is established as long as the starting criteria of a 2018 2nd has been met or exceeded.

No thanks, I like his intangibles too much to take that little. He may be barebones skill wise, but he can play on any pair as a sturdy defensive specialist. Having him also lets me think about moving Carlo in a package for a star. I’ll probably keep Carlo, but having mcquaid gives me more options.

If you want to pay a 3rd 2018 I can part with him because that’s a legit asset for a legit asset. Anything less I’ll probably just lean towards retaining him to sustain maximum flexibility.

It would take a first+ for me to move him.

I’ve seen him live several times in the ahl where he put up great numbers consistently four years in a row. I think he’s better than anybody I could draft in 2018. He’s also in a great situation behind a 33 year old starter who has 2 years left on his contract.

I wouldn’t trade anything for him and frankly wouldn’t even sign him as a ufa for over 1m. We had him in Boston and couldn’t wait for him to be gone.

Don’t be hard on yourself, it’s hard to read everyone’s description every time you access their page.

There is zero chance I trade Spooner for less than a 2nd+ because I would have gotten a 2019 2nd for his rights. He played near a 60 point pace last season, so I obviously think him signed at 3.15m for 3 seasons > 1x 2019 2nd.

If I get no higher offers I could potentially take a 2nd + lesser pick, but I wouldn’t take just a 2nd.
