I think its best to keep changes to a minimum too and let the young guys grow with NHL experience! With that said would Grubauer really resign for 15.4M for 7 years? It seemed like last year he wanted to be a starter and get paid like a starter. I read somewhere that GMBM was in Russia this season talking with Samsonov. I'd love for WSH to keep Grubbi so if they can do it for that price Im all for it!
I have no idea. I hope they don't go into these playoffs without a backup Trotz trusts enough to play a series if Holtby gets the flu. Whether that's Grubauer or not, I have no idea. But I would trust Grubauer. he knows the team. He knows the plays. Maybe the play a little more conservatively in front of him than in front of Holtby, but that might not be such a bad thing.

Pass on Beagle, time to let him go and let young guys play like Boyd. Especially for $2M.
Bowey won't get $2.2M, he'll get something around $1M probably. Need to buyout or trade Orpik, he can't play anymore. If anything he needs to be #7.
Those two moves get them down to 80M, but to sign Bowey you're giving up on trying to get a great deal by giving him max term and the keys to the power play. Since he's better than Mike Green at even strength this year, I think he'd be top twenty among defnsemen in scoring if he got half the time Carlson gets on Washington's power play next year. Then the Caps can trade Carlson with his gigantic contract and... oh. I think I see my mistake.
Yeah. maybe they're onto something, trying to swap Carlson for Karlsson today. I hope they get back some good picks and prospects, though, to make up for Karlsson being injured and not as good right now. Giving up a healthy Carlson for these playoffs should be more than enough to land Karlsson for next year's, whether or not his heel heals by then.
