It's a solid move for both teams. If Vegas made a third line checking center in William Karlsson become a high end goal scorer and a career middle six guy in Perron be over a point-per-game, who knows what they can do with Tatar.
WOW... Wings won this one..... This is an impressive haul for Tatar...
Ken Holland deserves a golf clap.. lol
Why the hell didn't he trade Green? I mean you gotta take what you can get, even if it was a 2nd or whatever.... The Wings don't need him anymore, any return would have been an asset and not moving him to save face is a mistake, but I suppose this Tatar trade makes up for it...
I think the reason Detroit kept not trading Tatar was because they didn't like their offers ... suddenly, this year they get offered a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
I know its hindsight now but I think this was a questionable trade when I first saw it and think its a silly trade now. This was terrible professional scouting at its best. Tatar was not the player they needed and really won;t be a player they'll need going forward. I don't see the fit here at all.

While McPhee has now shown to be an incredible team builder, let’s not forget that he’s a bit impulsive come trade deadline line. He did trade Filip Forsberg to NSH for...wait for it....Martin Erat

My thoughts exactly.
This trade screams Forsberg for Erat all over again but not quite as bad as that obviously but the idea is the same. Listen he wanted to bolster his team up for a deep playoff run. Fine, but getting Tatar just seems like a "look guys, I made a big trade too, I'm a big boy GM" type thing.... which sucks because up until that move, I don't think he made one bad move for Vegas!
Its not that Tatar is even a bad player but realistically where does he plan on playing him? He's a 4th line player on this team currently yet has some of the most playoff experience on the team...... He is a scoring winger on a team that has oodles of wingers scoring for them already. If he is worried about Perron and Neal leaving in free agency, he could of looked to replace them in free agency instead of giving up more picks when the team is supposed to be rebuilding.
Fair enough the picks are late picks since Vegas is likely to finish strong this year but non the less, Tatar was not needed on this team.
