He's 31. This deal will run until he is 36.

Pittsburgh may have some issues with him in the last year of the contract or so, but overall, not a bad price to keep him around.

The value is good. The lenght is ok. It'd be a great term if it were a 3 year contract. But as a Pens fan, I'm happy with the contract, in general, and to keep a so much valuable player either.

Don't underestimate his importance to their cup-winning teams the past two years. Yes, this deal may look worse in several years, but their window to win is right now. Good signing.

This is pretty much what I would say too. I think the back-end of this deal will age the same way that Crosby-Malkin-Kessel-Letang age. What that will be remains to be seen.

Ya, I agree with you guys the money is ok, but the term sucks. I would have been ok with a 3 year term instead.

good player, would of gave him $6 million / 6-8 years personally, He plays like a 20 yr old.
