Yeah, they had a great deadline. Did you see what they got for Nash, and McD & JTM could have been kept, but they knew they could get a lot out of them

Yeah the Rangers didn’t do bad at all. 3 first round picks (No way Tampa doesn’t win the cup right?), Namestikov, 4 decent prospects, and well, Beleskey, but whatever. And they moved Holden, so that’s good.

Other players should had been moved, not JT and McD. They rather move Hayes, Staal or Smith.

C'mon Pete, Staal and Smith can't be moved. No team picked up Smith on waivers. No teams are interested Smith's or Staal's play or contracts.

Hi Palhal, yeah I know. I haven't claimed they were movable. Just my wish to trade one or the other away from Manhattan. I would definately keep Miller and McDonagh.

I know it’s emotional and it sucks as a fan, but Hajek could replace McD as top LHD. Howden could end up top 6C maybe 1C. Namestikov and Miller are similar players and Namestikov may be a little cheaper to sign. They also got a few 1sts this year

Pete is a Russian Bot.

I feel like Hayes, Spooner, Miller and Namestnikov are all kind of the same, with Hayes and Nam being more pure C's and Spooner and Miller more suited to the Wing. So I guess I would rather have 2/3 of those guys able to play center and Spooner and Miller might be kind of interchangeable. Spooner needs an actual coach to properly deploy him though, which AV is incapable of and did a **** job with Miller on too. I also think Namestnikov might come in cheaper than Miller when all is said and done, which will be good. And anything that helps entice Igor to come over once his KHL deal is done is worth it in my book.

So then I look at it as McDonagh for a Howden (2016 1st), Hayak (2016 2nd), a 2018 1st and a 2019 2nd that has maybe a 30% chance of converting to a first. It sucks that Sergachev or Point were not included in this deal, but that is a decent return. I only think his return declines in the offseason when Karlsson is on the trading block as well and a contender only gets him for 1 year and playoffs instead of 2.

I think this is the absolute height of optimism and just as likely as us winning the number #1 pick, as in a decent chance but not likely. I think if howden can become a solid 2c and Hajak a shutdown LHD in the top 4, that would be a pretty amazing outcome and even further bolsters our now incredibly deep C pool of talent.

This is just Part 1, We still have options to trade especially Zucc. He will fetch a nice return at the draft. With Namestnikov and Zib we might not have a need for Hayes so he could go too because he is RFA. So we have 19 games for players to audition for next year.

I really liked what we did and the key now is to make sure we draft the most talented can't miss player at whatever pick we get. And the new coach that will come this summer needs to be the right man to get most of these kids into NHL players as quickly as possible. Just a matter of seeing which kids pan out.
