I'm not sure you have to pay that much, Ottawa is looking to dump his salary in their rebuild.

You could get him for so much less, not a bad gamble really as Ott would almost pay you to take him and he could be good again?

Hello Hossa!!!

Admitting Hossa only costs 1m a year, if he plays. There is a danger to the Hawks that Hossa is deemed healthy, and then Hossa might now waive his NMC.
Actually Clarkson of Vegas who is never returning is a very safe LTIR to acquire. And a Arizona should be well above the floor anyway, so there need of non players has been diminished, unless the sweetener is really sweet.

Yes, and additionally. If AZ were to say...buy him out to extend that $1M into double the years of $500k yet still receive a cap boost...then the penalty goes back to Chicago per the CBA. So it's a VERY risky move to trade him...ever.

Good point exo2769. Moral of the story. Keep Hossa happy....being around the team, watching the games from the private boxes, but keep just unhealthy enough that he stays on LTIR. Leafs Horton who is a Toronto boy, and never played a game as Leafs, hangs around the Air Canada Centre. Keep him happy making 5.25m....what a great life.

No to both trades, but the concept seems okay. The Grabner and Chiasson signings are interesting.

Martinook is worth more than that to the team.

Even dumping Panik and Bolland's contract, Ryan's contract is just too expensive to the Coyotes. The sweetener coming with Ryan would have to be extremely appealing to make it worthwhile.

Dahlin is LH not RH -- as much as pretty much every team would like to switch that without losing anything lol
