That would be a horrendous trade for the Habs.

Maybe take out the 2021 pick and make the 2020 one conditional so they could take back if Pacioretty resigns?

With all the luck we had with our first pick... it doesn't matter :-)
3st pick (Galch+1st +1st) for Drai... still a great deal and we are keeping all our 2018 one!

This trade is laughable unless you think Lucic can keep up with today's game (which he clearly can't). Imagine how much worse he'll be at 33, 34...

Galchenyuk, McCarron, Scherbak, Juulsen, Sergachev, Poehling... Bergevin/Timmons have a pretty good track record for 1st rounders actually, especially considering 4/6 were chosen 25th or later. I'd rather keep the picks.

As much as I don't want to trade Draisaitl, this trade would be quite tempting.
Galchenyuk McDavic Yamamoto
Pacioretty RNH Puljuarvi
Would be a scary top 6.
Not to mention 2 extra 1st rounders to try and get some much needed winger and defenceman depth on ELCs.

Again... no one as the power of doing any of those trades... but knowing couple of Oilers fan telling me that they would never trade Drai... I was wondering what would be the right trigger for a Oilers fan to say yes!
And looking at Habs line-up without Pacc & Galch seems very competitives.

I think the problem for Oiler fans is we lost the Hall and Eberle trades, so we can't imagine trading another star player away. The other thing about Oiler fans, me included, is we see ourselves being the next Pittsburgh penguins. It is so rare for a team to have two elite centres like Crosby and Malkin, so we can't help to compare McDavid and Draisaitl to them and hope our incompetent management can build a cup winning team around them. Trading one of those McDavid or Drai feels like we are giving up on that, and based on our history we expect to lose the trade. We might be dumb in comparing McDavid and Drai to Crosby and Malking, but we are fans, we can't help it!

I totally agree... I was stating the same thing on other post... two stars C... I even proposed Tavy against Drai to get Tavares + McJesus together
