If the playoffs started today, this is what I'd think the Canadian roster would look like. Note: DAL/PHI/CBJ/MIN are projecting to have miserable first rounds as they'll be expected to play (and not get swept by) WPG/PIT/TBL/NAS respectively. If I recall, the WC's preliminary round starts as the first round of the SCF's comes to an end, which is why I've added their key players to this roster.
Everyone hold onto your butts, a blend of the Canadian A and B Olympic teams has arrived. The Canadians are bringing a destroyer of worlds level roster with them, all but ensuring that gold is convincingly theirs. The amount of times "oh my god" fell out of my mouth as I constructed this roster is too high to count. Players like Mark Stone, Josh Bailey, Mike Hoffman, TJ Brodie, Sean Couturier, Wayne Simmonds, and a myriad of other NHLers fail to crack this roster. It's absurd how good the Canadian roster is going to be this summer.
The only concern comes with the goaltending. What versions of Dubnyk, Smith, and Bernier is Team Canada bringing with them? Crawford is most likely unavailable this summer due to vertigo being a difficult illness to get over. If neither of the trio can hold the fort, the Canadians will have to wait for backup when the first round of the playoffs end.
Possible 1st Round Exit additions:
(LW) Taylor Hall (NJD)
(G) Marc-Andre Fleury (VGK)
(G) Martin Jones (SJS)
(LD) Marc-Edouard Vlasic (SJS)
Yeah I'm almost certain Price gets shut down for the summer once the Habs season is over. If fatigue is starting to be an issue for him, then let him have a few months of rest. Otherwise I'd have added him.
What about Sidney Crosby??? The best player on earth!! Or Price or Fleury. I would take anyone over Bernier.

this is the worst **** ive ever seen where is crosby were is subby and why the hell is nurse on here
Where is price or holtby or fleury or crawford bullshiiiiiiit
Do none of you realize that none of those guys are available for this summer's world championship? Crosby, Subban, and Holtby are going to be in the 2nd round of the playoffs. You two didn't think this was a World Cup roster did you?

Sorry habs_fan123 that I didn't write the description in French - it actually says that Hall and Vlasic could meet up with the team once their respective clubs are eliminated from the playoffs. I don't expect their series to end quick enough for them to be available for the first few matches though.
Benn's on the top line. Unless you meant Jordie, which is laughable. How does Stone crack this roster lmao???? Hall might push Staal out and play #2LW, pushing the rest of that side down a line, but he's the only other forward that could even remotely make it. Hockey Canada has a thing with left- and right-handed defensemen. I don't see Weber taking a spot from one of the RHD on this team already, he's gotten to be too slow.
I did legitimately overlook Morgan Rielly though. Good catch. Same situation as Hall and Vlasic though - the projected Bos/TOR series is going to be an all out 7-game bloodbath. He's probably not there in time for the first few games.
I already responded to Price - if he's fatigued already, he's getting shut down for the summer. The Canadiens brass won't let him go. And again, in the description, I don't know how far along Cawford is with his vertigo treatment. It's not an illness that just goes away.
Edit: Re Getzlaf: he doesn't make this roster. No room for another LHC. Not every top-tier player can be on this team.
PRobably playing Tampa in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Thanks for coming.
Idk Beter, we might get a run for our money with Toronto. But w/ Gio, Wings, Nasher, and Holdsy being picked up we may have a better chance than we did right before the deadline

It's going to be a 7-game bloodbath, and one of the series I'm most excited for. It'll be the Toronto defense that loses the series - or at least the Boston defense that prevails the ungodly offensive onslaught. I'm convinced the only way the Bruins lose is if Rask gets hurt or if Andersen plays out of his mind.
