Hoff to STL, EK to Colorado, JGP to CAL, Ceci to EDM, Burrows back to VAN

Description
Yikes, not a fan of the full rebuild. But these are around the kinds of trades I'd be looking at. Can't wait to see how bad you think they are in the comments.

Draft Czechs Zadina and Kaut. Also get their pick back next year.

Trades
1.
OTT
  1. Gunnarsson, Carl
  2. Kyrou, Jordan
  3. 2019 1st round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
RFA rights to Fabbri.

The pick is conditional. Ottawa only gets it if Fabbri doesn't play in at least 50 games (ballparking) next season. If he plays more than that, STL keeps the pick.

Gunnarsson to offset cap a bit.
2.
OTT
  1. Jost, Tyson
  2. 2019 1st round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Rights to Cale Makar.

Not actually COL's pick, but OTT's from the Duchene deal.
COL
  1. Karlsson, Erik
Additional Details:
Against trading EK but getting our 1st back and two top prospects makes sense to me. I kinda of think it would make sense to COL as well. They keep Barrie, Zadorov, Johnson, and Girard while adding the best defenceman in the game. (potentially one of the best D-cores in the game???)

Not sure what needs to be added for the value of this trade.

You mentioned the benefit to the Sens for trading EK. Probably the same reason why it's too high a price for Avs to make the trade.
No team is going to charitable by taking the expensive and poor Ryan in any trade. Much better just to sign a 7m UFA,

Hahaha that is such a bold statement, where are you getting that from?

I think Colorado would rather keep their picks and prospects right now

avs would turn that deal down. With the 2020 Expansion coming, Makar and Timmins are exempt from it.

EK is one of the best in the game, but hes not worth the Avs to tear down a significant portion of their rebuild and youth core with a looming expansion. Now if its a deal with Barrie in vs Makar then they will probably be more inclined in such a move with Jost and Ott own 1st since it wouldn't really screw over their protection requirements in 2020 if that does happen

I thought they would rather keep Barrie but I'd do that for sure.

Barrie is legit and its going to be a sad day when he leaves but I think he gets traded, Barrie is a puck moving RHS Dman and he sort of doesnt have a long term fit with the team. Small puck movers in 19 y ear old Girard and Makar. Righties in Johnson (Vet leader of that D core and locker room) Makar, and Timmins (even Meloche in the AHL). He will become redundant as soon as the kids arrive. I know EK is a righty too but hes a different animal than Barrie.

A top 4 of Zadorov Johnson - Barrie Girard....vs a Top 4 of Zads Karlsson - Girard Johnson. The second option would be a legit terror.

IMO Barrie will be moved for a young winger...but if you can get EK and extend him in the summer, thats a game changer

Why??? Kailer got taken with the 22nd overall??! I guarantee you Ceci would land a mid-late first. You can say no, but you can't say it's garbage.

Still not sure I'd want to give up Jost but you're right, that could be scary (Nemeth and Timmins on the 3rd pairing, with a Siemens & Makar pairing also a possibility......deep!) I'd rather offer Kerfoot, Barrie & the first, bearing in mind the cost of Karlsson's extension to come and the fact he may decide to go UFA. Otherwise it would be a no from me.
