Realistic trade, I wonder what would change if New Jersey wanted him to sign long term first. Possible move to bring up the value

OEL is not good defensively. I can see a Shattenkirk buyer's remorse type situation with OEL

He's not bad defensively, I think he just tries to do to much because Arizona is terrible. He is top tier talent.

Sign Carlson from Wash in the offseason instead. Keep assets. Also sign JVR. Trade Zajac for more assets. Extend Hall, trade Zacha and assets obtained for Galchenyuk.

As a Caps fan I'll tell you Carlson is way over rated. Slow dosen't give effort is the d zone and get a lot of charity points passing to Ovi. No one is giving up anything for Zajac He's still useful defensive 3C but no one else is taking that contract.

I've talked to some Western Conference fans and they say that OEL is good, but not nearly as good as Eastern Conference fans think because they only watch him play twice per year. OEL will be traded this offseason, and it will be to an Eastern Conference team. We will look at what that team gave up for him and think "good thing that wasn't us"
